Chef SG Kitchen – The Vision Behind the Flavors
The Story of Chef Stephen Gomes
At Chef SG Kitchen, every dish tells a story of heritage, passion, and relentless innovation. Our culinary journey is led by Chef Stephen Gomes, a fourth-generation chef whose roots trace back to Mumbai’s vibrant food culture and whose talent has reshaped modern Indian cuisine in the UK.
Born into a family of culinary legends from his father, an Executive Chef at Mumbai’s Sun-n-Sand Hotel, to his grandfather, who served aboard a WWII battleship Chef Stephen’s destiny was written in spices and flames. Though he once dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot, his love for food steered him toward the kitchen, where he trained at the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai, and mastered his craft in the city’s finest five-star hotels.

A Pioneer on the Plate
Chef Stephen is more than a chef; he’s a Gastro-physicist, blending tradition with science to create dishes that surprise and delight. His pioneering use of natural food science and bold flavor fusions has earned him a reputation as one of the UK’s most innovative chefs.
